About the tour
May 28: Arrive in Hamburg and transfer to the hotel.
May 29: Hamburg city tour. A gateway to the world, Hamburg is a gem in the far north of Germany, the green city by the water is justly considered one of Germany's most attractive cities. Our tour highlights include a harbor tour and seafood dinner onboard an accessible ship.
May 30: Today we will visit Minature Hamburg, the world‘s largets minature model of a city and then on the Old Land region along the river Elbe. This area is famous for its cherry and apple orchards dotted with old time cottages.
May 31: After breakfast we depart Hamburg for a scenic drive to Munster.
Jun 01: City tour of Muenster. Idyllic medieval squares, hip and trendy urban life, green oases – there is a whole lot to discover in Munster. This is a cosmopolitan city with a history going back more than 1,200 years. Whether as a bishop's seat, a member of the Hanseatic League or a university city – Munster has always played an important role in the region and far beyond. One of the tour highlights will be a tour of the Peace Hall where the Treaty of Westphalia was signed.
Jun 02: Today we visit the region of Munsterland, famous for its lakes, water castles, gardens and villages.
Jun 03: We will depart Munster for our scenic drive to Mainz. Along the way, we will stop in Cologne to visit one of the world’s most famous Gothic cathedrals. A UNESCO world heritage site, this magnificent structure took seven centuries to build.
Jun 04: Tour along the Rhine. We will stop at picturesque villages, vineyards and castles.
Jun 05: Mainz, the state capital of Rhineland-Palatinate, is famous for its university, its Roman heritage and as a media centre, as well as its Romanesque cathedral, the Gutenberg printing press and the old market area. We will tour this lovely city and spend time at the market.
Jun 06: Frankfurt is the financial capital of Europe and has garnered the nickname “Mainhatten” for its combination of gleaming skyscrapers and medieval old Romer Platz that sits on the Main river. We will tour the old and new parts of this wonderful city and have time for shopping on the famed Zeil shopping street.
