About the tour
Nov. 02 - Arrive in Cape Town and transfer to 4-star hotel next to Victoria and Albert Waterfront.
Nov. 03 - Visit to Table Mountain and enjoy the stunning 360 degree views across Table Bay, the Cape Flats and the mountain chain. Tour the historical and architectural sites of Cape Town including the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens famous for winning worldwide awards.
Nov. 04 - Tour the Cape of Good Hope reserve, stopping at the Penguin colony at False Bay. Take a funicular ride to the old lighthouse at Cape Point. Enjoy the view as we take the famous Chapman’s Peak Drive. Evening is at your leisure.
Nov. 05 - Visit the wine lands area of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl, a must see when in South Africa. Stellenbosch is the second oldest settlement and has most of its original architecture from 1679. Tour the Period House museum and enjoy two wine tasting stops. Evening is at your leisure.
Nov. 06 - Depart for the Garden Route. Enjoy the view as we drive via the Breede River Valley. We continue via the Kogmanskloof Pass into the Klein Karoo and then through more magnificent passes and fertile valleys. Overnight in Calitzdorp. Dinner included.
Nov. 07 - Depart for Oudtshoorn for the day, where we visit a Wildlife Ranch, that has an endangered big cats breeding program. We have lunch and a tour at an Ostrich farm and find out more about these fascinating flightless birds. Later in the afternoon we drive over the Outeniqua Pass to the coastal area of the Garden route. We continue to Knysna for overnight. Lunch included.
Nov. 08 - We head to Plettenberg Bay for an Eco-cruise on Keurbooms river. In the afternoon we have a very memorable afternoon planned – feed and touch the gentle giants of Africa.
Nov. 09 - 10 - Depart for the Eastern Cape and the malaria-free game viewing experience at the 5-star Private game reserve. Days will provide game drive opportunities. All meals are included at the game lodge.
Nov. 11 - After the early morning game drive and breakfast, we depart the private game reserve back to Knysna. Visit a small cat sanctuary where we can see the shy mostly nocturnal animals such as Caracal, Cervil, Black Footed Cats, and Meercats. You will have the opportunity to get close to South Africa’s national bird, the Blue Crane and more.
Nov. 12 - We drive to Mossel Bay, where the first Portuguese Navigator, Dias landed in 1488 and visit the museum which houses the replica caravel boat from the 500 year re-enactment of this famous voyage. We continue to an aloe factory where you can find out more about this plant and its healing properties. We then arrive at our farm experience where we overnight on a Guest Farm in the Heidelberg district. Dinner included.
Nov. 13 - After the farm tour, we continue through the old town of Swellendam with its wonderful history and architecture. Return to Cape Town over Sir Lowry’s Pass. Evening is at your leisure to explore the Victoria and Albert waterfront.
Nov. 14 - Morning at your leisure and free time before departing Cape Town.
